Good food, BAD SERVICE. I always tip when Im given good service. But the waitress with the short black hair is VERY RUDE. Even though she was very mean the first time she served me, I still tipped her. Since then, I've only tipped when I get a server who is not her. She waited a few minutes bride serving me the last time I went there, then said if I eat in I have to tip her. So I left. Do not spend your dollars there if you want good service. You certainly will not get it with her as your sever. I'm very disappointed. The other workers there were very nice but I can't contribute to a place who has staff that treats customers that way.
I have ordered in from Khao Sarn 100x more than eating there. Fast delivery and still delicious. For a while it was the go to meal after a big long bike ride. Drunk Noodles I heart you
Tom yum soup (shrimp) was very flavorful. The Thai iced tea was too sweet for me but delicious. The papaya salad was fairly run of the mill. Tiger tears is a great appetizer but they cook the steak inconsistently. I think maybe stay away from the massaman curry. The shrimp volcano was way more fried than the menu suggests - it was delicious but quite the gut achhe.
Best Thai food ever and the service is excellent 😘
Khao Sarn has fallen off the wagon big time. I used to frequent their previous location on the corner of S 2nd & Bedford Ave. Back then the food was amazing. The portions have always been on the smaller side considering the price but I didn't mind a bit because it was great.Recently I was disappointed beyond belief when I ate here. Everything was horrible. Save your money and go to a better spot. I wouldn't eat this food if it was free. The two stars are for the service, decor, and the Thai tea. The Thai tea is the only thing on point. Sorry, not sorry... total trash.
We have only ordered delivery from here so I can't speak to the dining experience or service, but seamless is always fast, hot, and delicious. Have had quite a few of the noodle dishes - Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Pad Kee Mow, and my personal favorite the Red Curry. Delish! Hope to stop in to eat sometime, however typically when we eat Thai it is take out...
Some of the best Thai food in the neighborhood. Don't miss the veggie duck salad and their new soju mojito!
I've ordered from here dozens of times. Literally one of my favorites in the neighborhood. And my first google review.
Was always my mainstay for a solid and reliable lunch order. Great food and great service. They care and are friendly.
Perfect curry is amazing
Great food! Great value! One thing though... pretty lame to not take credit cards and to have an ATM at the end of the bar... Total cheapshot. Just bring cash and eat well!
One of my best thai meals ever.
Server was kind of rude/unhelpful. Thai tea was subpar. I asked for coconut curry noodle soup it was ok. I’ve seen much better Thai food in queens and east Williamsburg unfortunately.
Decent spot for Thai during lunch. Portions felt small for the price
Stopped in for lunch while in the neighborhood for work. I had the tom-yum soup and pad see-ew lunch special. Super tasty, good portions, friendly service, good deal. 👍
Best thai in Williamsburg, in my opinion. Equal to or better than Sea, but at a lower price point.
We like a lot to go out. Last night we came to this delicious place which friends told us about. We passed a lovely time there with first-rate meal and a nice team and a professional chief cook. We put this venue in our list and we will definitely visit again soon. We deeply recommend.
Friendly staff and really good food.
Great curry, very nice service
Best Thai food in Williamsburg, some of the best I’ve had in New York.
Okay so let me just get started by saying that I discovered this place last week and today is my sixth time here! it is literally SO good! the food is fresh and healthy! the servers are absolutely so helpful and welcoming and they overall vibe of khao sarn is both familial yet trendy! They've been around for over 15 years and with good reason! 10/10! definitely try their lunch special it's an entree and a starter for around 10$! definitely recommend the veggie tofu soup, the spring rolls, steamed veggie dumplings and any of their fried rices! they also have a happy hour!!!!
The food tastes good but the service is horrible. The waitress is very rude and she basically throws the things on your table. They are in a hurry to take your order and for everything even if there is not a lot of people in the restaurant. I didn’t feel comfortable at all.
They have perfect lunch special! Tum Kha and chicken pad thai was so good! its only 10$
Small portions for the lunch special. I chose the drunken noodles and crispy wontons. The 2 fried wontons were small. The thai iced tea was what you would expect.
The tom yum soup and the stuff are just awsome
Very nice and tasty good food and service.
Just ate at Khao Sarn and will surely not be back. The place was almost empty - which on a Friday night in Williamsburg is quite a bad sign. Service was terrible, very slow and had to remind our drinks which were forgotten on the counter. We ordered Thai Salad, fish cake and drunken noodles and every single dish was terrible. The Thai Salad was literally lots of lettuce with two piece of tomatoes and a few pieces of carrots and three tiny cubes of hard and stale tofu. I had to return it. Fish cakes were the tiniest I have seen and very rubbery. Noodles quite unforgettable and not spicy at all. Considering the quality and the quite tiny portions it is also a little pricey. All around the worst Thai food I have ever had. Would never recommend it.
Absolutely amazing Thai food! The ambiance is perfect for date night. Fair prices on the food and drinks
Food is great ! Love to come here and chill
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, food was pretty good. Good spot to grab lunch.
Love this place! Would hate to see it go. The fake duck pad sew ew is delish and the drunken noodle with chicken is also amazing. Try the lunch special!
An elderly gentleman welcomes you with a smile and open arms. They're menu is diverse and well priced. Their pumpkin curry is heaven on a plate. Cute place and delicious!
Surprised to see the bad reviews ! We popped in for lunch this weekend and it did not disappoint. We ordered two lunch specials, steamed spring rolls, curry noodles, egg fried rice and a soup. Everything was spot on, highly recommend the curry noodles in particular as it was quite flavorful and spiced appropriately.
Very nice! Great service & Great food!
Cheap and cheerful. Reliable neighborhood seamless option for noodles. Also worth a visit in person for cheap eats at low key non stuffy restaurant.
Nice lunch option! Nice service and tasty food but never spicy enough. Green curry, marked spiciest on the menu, is barely mild. Update: if you ask for drunken noodles to be spicy, they will be just right.
I ordered a takeaway Pad Thai and was not impressed with the lack of ingredients... It was mainly rice noodle, with a smattering of bean shoots, over cooked scallion, and 5 prawns. I'm Thai and maybe I've been spoilt with good food growing up... but I can safely say this place misses the mark and we won't be ordering from again.
Fresh food, incredible service, reasonable prices! Highly recommend.
We love this place, they treat you like family, and the food is delicious. The best Thai food I ever had!! We go often for special occasions multiple times a year.
Great place to visit for lunch or a date with anyone.
Great food and service lunch special very affordable with a good selection.
Pretty good Thai food, always a table for you, really good service, nice people and a great lunch special!
Good pad thai good curry
Just had lunch here- pad Thai and green curry were amazing!!
Ordered a Pad See Ew via Caviar: I called the restaurant to see if they could include shrimp with my chicken pad see ew and they were extremely rude. I called within 3 mins of placing the order (I had a hard time getting through their number) and when I got through the woman told me she can’t help me because my order went out 15 mins ago. Really?! When she finally figured out my correct order, she said my $12 dish would go up to $14. The delivery limit is $15, so I ALREADY PAID FOR THIS, technically. She was reluctant to help and was rushing me off the phone. It went on and on for a while until I gave up. NEVER ORDERING HERE AGAIN.
I have been eating at this place for well over 10 years, old and new location. The new location has a more modern vibe, great location. Food has always been consistent, nothing fancy, just great food and good service.
The ginger noodle and ginger fried rice dishes are beautiful but the portions are small compared to other Thai restaurants. Ordered a main sized salad and it was really small- not comparable to other main dish sizes. The service can be slow too. Everything seems clean though.
Amazing thai food and a good price, $3 beers on happy hour too! The only problem is that they were understaffed and the take out orders were never ending. Definitely going again soon.
food was excellent and service fast
got food poisoning here from chicken pad thai and have been sick for 4 days. dont go here.
